Most healthy region

The Costa Blanca has been named by the World Health Organisation as the healthiest region in Europe. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year you can enjoy pleasant temperatures all year round. The average temperature is 18⁰C, which means that temperatures in summer are not extremely high and in winter it is relatively warm. These temperatures are due to the microclimate that prevails here.

Altea is one of the most authentic coastal towns on the Costa Blanca. It is also one of the most beautiful and sustainable cities in Spain. The old town and the viewpoints of this artist and fisherman village are known for their charm.

The Plaza de la Iglesia, the church square, with its distinctive blue domed church is the heart of Altea. It is an authentic centre of leisure, art and culture, which is particularly lively in the summer.

Altea has great gastronomic potential. The Mediterranean Sea often plays a special role in the dishes and the restaurants emphasise and use the character and charm of the town.

The romantic coastline with its extensive promenade has many beaches where you can sunbathe and practice all kinds of water sports such as sailing, fishing, snorkeling, canoeing and paddle surfing.

Lovers of nature, walking and hiking in this region are in the right place; around Altea there are many mountains such as the Sierra de Bernia or the Sierra Helada natural park where hiking trails have been laid out for the novice to the more advanced hiker.

"The costa blanca boasts a rich and varied gastronomy in which the Mediterranean Sea plays an important role".
